This was one of my first shots with my 100mm macro lens. I was half way through setting up the trip when this lil dude lands right in front of me. I stop messing around swing the camera and shoot. The settings were probably all wrong, the camera was loose in the tripod, but I don't care. I like this shot. One last thing, damn bumblebee's can book.
Honey Bees bad hair day. Found this lil guy trying to dry himself off, he was pretty wet, you can see all his hair slicked back. Got a few more shots of him even closer up, just have not had a chance to process them yet. Busy few days ahead of me :) Note to self, must get macro rails.
Even Villains need to eat right? While walking along the beach late in the after noon my father spotted this wasp chowing down on a snapper head. Had the macro lens but no tripod so I took it as best I could. Got a few lucky shots. DOF isn't so hot but I like this shot a lot. Crouching over a wasp with a heavy lens you go into a zen like state trying not to move too much but not go too rigid either. Fun times.
